Director of Editorial, Design, and Production – Cornell University Press

I’ve spent the past decade working across different corners of the publishing industry, where I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the balance of creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving that publishing requires. I’m especially interested in how technology is reshaping the industry through metadata, discoverability, and digital tools that help connect books with the right readers while making publishing more accessible and efficient behind the scenes.

My background includes working as Senior Manager of Operations at Brown Books Publishing Group and as Publishing Specialist for Mavs Open Press at the University of Texas at Arlington Libraries, where I worked on journals, books, and open educational resources across both print and digital formats. I also co-founded Wavelength Magazine, a cultural arts magazine in North Texas, and started Spontaneous Afflatus, an independent press built around a love for literary publishing and collaborative creative work.

Outside of publishing, I’m also a writer and researcher. My debut poetry collection, Ebb & Flow, was first published in 2017, and my work has appeared in Mad Swirl and Wavelength Magazine. I’m also on Substack at From the Stack where I write about publishing, culture, travel, media, and whatever else I happen to be curious about at the moment.

When I’m not working, I’m usually reading on the porch (or the beach if I’m lucky), traveling, hunting for used bookstores, or out in the backyard with my telescope. I’m especially drawn to nautical history, horror, urban studies, media studies, and WWII history, really anything that sends me down an interesting rabbit hole.
